Accessibility resources

‍

Our Campus LLC’s provide a number of Supported Learning resources, and our LLC staff will be happy to assist you with these:

‍

• A useful YouTube guide to lots of the different types of Assistive Software available to help you in your studies can be accessed here, or through the NCLNow app

‍

• All students can download ‘Include Me’ software from the student portal on the NCLNow app to college computers and laptops and to their own personal pc or laptop/tablet when using it for college work, to make digital content in documents and websites more accessible

‍

• Height adjustable desks for wheelchair users which can be pre-booked via Moodle or with LLC staff:

                Coatbridge Campus – three adjustable desks

                 Motherwell Campus – one adjustable desk (second floor LLC)

                 Cumbernauld Campus – two adjustable desks (one in main LLC area and one in Study Room 4)

• Electronic document magnifier – Cumbernauld Campus (study room 4, contact library staff for more information and to book)

‍

• Stand-alone book magnifier - Coatbridge Campus (available from library staff)

• Braille books – Coatbridge Campus.  Search the LLC catalogue here.

Online Resources

The LLC has a range of online resources for students covering most subjects that the campuses offer to study.

When you access an online resource, the site will ask you for a username and password, which are the same as you use to log on to the college network. Most of our resources are available on and off campus, and can be accessed from the LLC home page on our website.

‍

Journals

Journals available in the LLC provide up-to-date information about a subject. In addition to the print titles that we hold, we have access to many online titles on Gale Business, News and Reference and Emerald Insight.

‍

Books

The LLC has an extensive collection of academic and reference books, as well as a range of ‘English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)’ and fiction books. Search the catalogue to see what is available.

‍

‍E-books

The LLC has a collection of e-books for various subjects. You need your college username and password to access them. All of our e-books are also available through the catalogue. If asked, select UK Federation login, Home Institution and/or Shibboleth, enter New College Lanarkshire then log on to the resources using your college username and password.
